Responsibilities
The Cost Estimation and Accounting
Team has an key role to fulfill in the initial (Phase 1)
feasibility portion of the project, in addition to an on-going
role. Since this is a volunteer based, not-for-profit project,
all costs will have to be covered by the individual team
members and by donations of funds, hardware and supplies.
As such, it is essential to estimate the overall cost of
the project. Working with the Marketing Team, it will then
be necessary to determine the best plan of action to raise
sufficient funds in order to minimize financial burden on
all team members of the project. As the project progresses,
the cost estimates are to be continually refined as better
(actual) cost data becomes available. The Team is also responsible
for handling donations and dispensing funds to the various
teams to cover costs, and for maintaining records of these
financial transactions. In case of project cancellation,
the accrued funds are to be dealt with in an appropriate
manner.
