Motor Development
Team Lead: Richard Nakka
Responsibilities
The primary goal of the Rocket
Motor Development Team is development and fabrication
of a reliable, safe and lightweight flight motor for the
vehicle. The motor(s) for this project will be, by far,
the largest "sugar propellant" motors ever produced.
In support of the goal it will therefore be necessary
to perform incremental development and testing of motors
of scaled-down size. Comparison of test data to predictions
will allow for refinement of the final design An additional
responsibility of the Motor Development Team will be to
perform a full-scale static test prior to flight, to ensure
reliability and to obtain final performance data needed
to accurately predict the flight profile of the rocket
vehicle.
