Project Teams - Payload development team
Payload Development
Team Lead: Geoffrey Gallo

Responsibilities
The responsibilities of the Payload Development Team include development, fabrication and testing of the payload package. The payload will monitor the altitude, velocity and positional orientation of the vehicle continually throughout the flight, and possibly relay this information on a real-time basis to a ground station. A recovery beacon will be incorporated. The payload will also interface to other rocket systems such as those for parachute deployment, ignition of the second stage/phase motor, and the vehicle safety systems. A stringent weight target is specified for the payload, adding to the overall challenge.
