Propellant Development
Team Lead: Richard Nakka
Responsibilities
The rocket propellant provides
the energy that will loft the rocket vehicle to space.
Since the sugar propellant is a relatively low energy
propellant, a enormous quantity is needed. The large size
of the propellant grains will be, by far, the largest
ever produced .The Propellant Development Team will have
the responsibility of developing means of preparing and
casting such large grains in a safe, timely, and efficient
manner. An additional responsibility will be investigating
the modification of the basic propellant formulation to
ensure predictable and suitable performance needed for
a vehicle of this size.
